Lower Marsh Creek Presbyterian Church, Gettysburg, is seeking a part-time Director of Music who will lead our chancel choir during the 11 AM service and a smaller choir during the 8:30 service plus other responsibilities typical for a 230-member church.
Director of Music Job Description
The Director of Music is a paid staff member working under the supervision and direction of the senior pastor and the Spiritual Life Ministry Team of the Session.
Performance reviews will be conducted annually in June by the pastor as head of staff and the Session Personnel Committee. The Session Personnel Committee will annually review the adequacy of compensation.

The Director of Music shall perform the following tasks:
-Plan and supervise rehearsals and performances of all anthems and special music for all worship services from Rally Sunday in September until the second Sunday in June. The choir may perform on other days such as Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday or Christmas Eve. Occasionally the choir may perform at a funeral.
-Coordinate all music with the pastoral staff and church organist on a monthly basis.
-Attend church committee meetings as appropriate, such as Worship Committee meetings and Spiritual Life Team.
-Assist in creating a Christ-centered environment for the choir.
-Solicit, audition and select new choir members.
-Select and maintain the music library and robes
-Schedule the special music calendar for Sundays in the summer months.
-Up to three absences from choir Sunday worship performances and/or choir practices are permitted annually.
