Resources & Facilities Future Planning Team

The team held their first meeting of 2010 in the Fellowship Hall on January 6, 2010. The business at hand included the following:
Fund Raisers Report:
Our next LMC Day at Hoss’ Steak House in Gettysburg will take place on Tuesday,
March 9, 2010. We will distribute tickets after both worship services on Sunday,
February 28 and Sunday, March 7, 2010. Mark your calendars. The team will
hold their business meeting at Hoss’ that evening and we invite all to join us.
Sanctuary Space: Thanks to the Home Ministry Team, Elder Scott Weyforth and Future
Planning Team member Dennis Saunders will move the hymnal board over to the
right side of the front of the sanctuary. It will be placed in an area that all can see
and that will not interfere with the choir. The original plan of placing the board on
a movable stand was found not to be practical. The final expense incurred by the
team for the renovations involved some rewiring to insure that the organ was on a
separate circuit.
Master Plan: The Architect Sub team met and reviewed the proposed draft of the
Master Plan. They compared the presented plan to the list of requirements that
were given to the architect on August 8, 2009. A number of shortcomings were
identified by the team. A list of these issues will be sent to the architect for further
discussion. Dick Paschal, Chair of the sub team, did note that we are still in the early
stages in the process and refinements will be made pending further meetings with
the architect.
The team anticipates a busy 2010 as we move forward with the development of the
Master Plan. Our goal is to finalize the plan for presentation to the congregation and
to move forward following the will of the congregation.

 “Preparing the Way” for LMC
to meet the future is an awesome responsibility! Prayer is an essential part of God’s
Master Plan and please, let us keep it an essential part of LMC’s Master Plan!

Until next month, In His Service,
Denise E. Lockwood
