Resources
& Facilities Future Planning Team Until next month, In His Service,
The team met in the Fellowship Hall on Tuesday, April 13 at 7:00 PM. We had a
productive meeting
and here are some of the highlights.
Master Plan Update: The revised drawings from Milner Architects were reviewed by
the team.
Overall, Christopher Miller, our architect, has done a very good job of
addressing the team's list of
concerns. The Architect Sub-committee will be meeting soon to review the plan in
great detail after
which they will meet with Christopher to review their findings. While reviewing
the master plan,
the team also discussed the existing kitchen and its shortcomings that face us
today. A lack of storage,
work flow issues and traffic problems were discussed. The team has decided, with
approval
from Session, to research some possible solutions to these concerns. We must
first verify that the
size of the kitchen will be sufficient to meet the needs of the expansion of the
Fellowship Hall as
seen in Phase II of the Master Plan. If the kitchen is of an appropriate size
for the future plans, we
will then establish our list of needs based on information collected from
talking with the many
church groups that use the kitchen routinely. Once the list of needs is
established we then hope to
work with industrial kitchen designers to explore the possibility of redesigning
the existing space.
We will be sure to keep you posted on this new team project.
Fund Raiser Update: Plans for the Second Annual Charlie Lockwood Memorial Golf
Tournament
are underway. If anyone is interested in working on this year's tournament
please contact Joe Jackson.
We thank you for your prayers and continued support of the team's work. Our
church family is ever
growing and we must be thankful of such blessings! We must also be equipped to
answer God's call
in "Preparing the Way" for this growing family.
"Preparing the Way" for LMC
to meet the future is an awesome responsibility! Prayer is an essential part of
God's
Master Plan and please, let us keep it an essential part of LMC's
Master Plan!
