SERMON SERIES

 "PASTORS PARTING WORDS"

As I prepare to retire, there are many thoughts and themes from Scripture that I would like to share. My prayer is that God’s Holy
Spirit will continue to “breathe” through this “Body of Christ” reminding you of who you are “in Christ” and of the mission God has
called you to!

May 5 – “Our Identity in Christ: The Five ‘solas’”
Romans 5:1-5 and selected Scriptures

May 11 – “Our Mission as a People of God”
John 17:20-26 and selected Scriptures
(“The Mission of LMC is to glorify God, deepen and
enrich the spiritual life of the family of believers, and
reach out into the community with the love of Christ.”)

May 19 – Pentecost Sunday & Communion
“The Rest of the Story”
Acts 2:1-21; John 14:8-27

May 25 – “Our Vision as a People of God”
The Great Commandment (Mark 12:28-34)
The Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20)

June 2 – Graduation Sunday – “Words to Live By”
1 Peter 3:15-16

 Sunday Morning Worship

11:00 AM - Late Service

Nursery Service: 9:30 - 12:15

All are Welcome in the House of God!

On June 9th a special 150th Commemorative Worship Service is being planned. Pastor Dale will preach a sermon inspired by the reflections of LMC's pastor at the time of the Battle of Gettysburg, and communion
will be celebrated using 19th century "communion tokens." Civil War reenactors will visit, period music will be sung by the choir, and there will be a reception in the Peace Garden following the 11 am service with Civil War era music provided by a brass band !
All are welcome! (Dress in "period" attire if you have it!)

"A Taste of Britain & Scotland"
The tour plans for the trip to England and Scotland are now being finalized. Casterbridge Tours will be our host for a 13 day trip, June 11-23, 2014. Among the tour highlights will be London, Stonehenge, Stratford-Upon-Avon, York, and the Lake District of England; Inverness, Loch Ness (home of Nellie!),
The Isle of Skye, Iona, Stirling, and Edinburgh in Scotland. The cost of approximately $4,500 per person includes everything except lunches, tips & gratuities, and travel insurance (not required). There will be an informational meeting led by Mr. Bill Burke, from Casterbridge, in the church fellowship hall at 6:00 pm, Sunday, May 19th. This tour is open to anyone and everyone - it is not an LMC "exclusive" event!
