| "Lord
make me a channel of your peace, that where there is hatred I
may bring love; that where there is wrong I may bring the spirit
of forgiveness; that where there is discord I may bring harmony;
that where there is error I may bring truth; that where there is
doubt I may bring faith; that where there is despair I may bring
hope; that where there are shadows I may bring your light; and
where there is sadness I may bring joy." St.
Francis of Assisi |

THE
FAIRFIELD FOOD PANTRY NEEDS YOUR HELP!!!
Everywhere you turn the
newspapers and TV media are shouting about the affects the
economy is having on everyone. People who
normally would not need help, who are both working,
cannot make ends meet because of sky-high prices. Where do
people turn? And what can we do to
help?
There are
people in our community who are struggling and barely able to
put food on their tables. This is
where the Fairfield Food Pantry comes in. They are a community
outreach program, staffed entirely
by volunteers. The Pantry began in the early 80’s and was
first operated inside the Fairfield
Mennonite Church. In the 90’s they built a shed and in 2006
the shed was replaced with a building 50% larger to accommodate
the needs of the Community. They
serve an average of 270 individuals monthly, which is about
three times more then only six years
ago. The numbers are growing quickly. Fresh produce, frozen
meats, fresh eggs and numerous
canned foods are distributed to those in need. The
Fairfield Food Pantry is truly a community outreach and we all
can help. Each month in our “Little
Ripples”, we will post those items the Pantry is most in need
of. When you shop, please add
something to your grocery list to donate. This
month they particularly
need canned vegetables, coffee, peanut
butter, spaghetti sauce, canned meats, tuna stew, etc. and
dried beans. There is a collection box in the narthex of our
church. The deacons will make sure
your donations get to the Food Pantry. And to those who have
continually donated to
this very worthwhile cause our most sincere thanks. Keep up the
great work.
“Then these righteous ones will
reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed
you? Or thirsty and give you something to
drink?'...And the King will tell them, ‘I assure you, when
you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me!’"
Matthew 25:37-38,40
